LPMT is a Category 3 airport that has recently been upgraded to Level 6. My goal is to develop it further and turn it into an active hub for connections between Portugal and the rest of Europe. Every flight to or from LPMT helps make the airport more active and allows pilots to benefit from the 60% revenue share.
The airport is located in Montijo, on the southern bank of the Tagus River, directly opposite Lisbon. It occupies a strategic position and is very close to Lisbon–Portela International Airport, LPPT, which is only about six nautical miles away. This makes LPMT perfect for short flights around Lisbon, domestic connections, European routes, and longer journeys.
LPMT has two runways:
• Runway 08/26 is approximately 2,440 metres long and 45 metres wide, with a concrete surface.
• Runway 01/19 is approximately 2,150 metres long and 45 metres wide, with an asphalt surface.
The two differently oriented runways make it possible to manage arrivals and departures under varying wind conditions. Their dimensions accommodate many types of aircraft, ranging from small general-aviation aircraft to regional airliners and many commercial jets. Naturally, pilots should always consider their aircraft’s weight, performance, and required runway length before every flight.
