Strange issue - Airport changed in Flight logs

Hello @Karim-CTO-SimFly

I flew to every country available in SIMFLY, 233 countries !

But this morning, I notice it displays only 232 ?

So i searched why. Honduras is one now missing, despite I flew there on March 4.

As Per my own recors (I copy daily my flight log, the flight was MHSC - MYEH

But now, it appear on simfly flight logs, like I took off from SMFY, a Ghost airport in Senegal …

This si very strange, are the data corrupted ? an serious issue with the database ?
How an airport can be chnaged in the flight logs, with a “ghost airport” ?

BTW, some other bugs about countries

  • 6 countries have no flags :
    *Congo, Republic of the,
    *Cote D’ivoire,
*Libyan Arab Jamahiriya (Isn’t just Libya ? )
    *Midaway Islands
    *Timor Leste
    *Wake Island

  • the country of KBRG is not New Mexico but USA.
-Anyway, there is no way to use this Airport in Simfly as it always detects another airport (Alexander Mun, E80)

-FEMP : small error in country name, it is in Reunion, not in “Réunion”, Only 2 airport in the island but their country’s name isn’t spell same. FMEE is well on “Reunion”, but for FEMP there is the “é” in the country name. However, if you fly to FEMP, the country visited tab counts it properly as in Reunion", not with Réunion as a different country.

Hello @Benoit0211,

yes, yesterday we removed MHSC from the database because it was overlapping 1:1 with MHPR, causing detection issues for pilots departing from or arriving at either airport.

Based on our investigation, MHSC was the former ICAO code for Soto Cano / Palmerola, while today the airport is identified as MHPR. Both records were referring to essentially the same airport infrastructure and the same geographical coordinates.

For this reason, we decided to keep MHPR, which is the currently used ICAO code, and remove MHSC to prevent further flight tracking and airport detection conflicts. In addition, MHSC was not owned by any user, so its removal did not affect any owned assets.

The “ghost airport” is simply a placeholder used in flight logs when an airport has been removed from the database for a specific reason, as in this case.

We still need to perform a complete review and update of the airport database, but we want to do it properly and in a controlled manner.

Regarding the missing flags, thank you for the report. It is likely that some Country information is missing, so we will perform a specific review and add the missing data where required.

We will also investigate the other issues you reported. Over the years, we have made several updates, changes, and improvements to the airport database, so it is possible that some information is no longer perfectly aligned.

We will continue working to make the database more reliable and up to date, and your reports are extremely helpful in that process.

I hope this answers your legitimate concern. Thank you again for taking the time to report these issues.

Thank you Karim,

Seems clear.

I wouldn’t have noticed if I had any other flight in Honduras.

Just landed in MHPR, so problem solved on my side. Now back to 233 visited country
