Hi!
Ive a bug to you guys fix.
A week ago i was selling my license to a friend(since you guys dont have anymore junior licence)
so i was helping him.
He clicked to buy my license and he was filling up the card details, when he finished he told me wasnt anymore avaible. Than minutes later another person bought.
How this my other friend was fiiling up on payment details
How is possible when someone clicks to buy(in case my friend clicked first) and dont have time to fill up the details and other person buy the license before?
The same thing happened to me last week, friend. I sold one of my licenses, and while my friend was uploading the data, my license had already been sold to another user in just 1 SECOND! How is that possible? Only an AI is faster than a human…it has no logical explanation.
this does not appear to be a Marketplace or checkout bug. Most likely, the other user already had their payment method saved, so they did not need to enter their card details again.
It can also happen that some users keep a close eye on the Marketplace and, as soon as they see an asset listed at what they consider a good or below-market price, they proceed with the purchase immediately.
I understand that it may seem strange to think that someone was there and ready at that exact moment, but that is not necessarily the case. If this were happening consistently and systematically, then there would be something more unusual to investigate in greater detail.
That said, to be safe, we will still check the situation and investigate it more carefully.
Please check carefully, cause like ex: i buy a product in amazon, and have 1 stock left, if i go on buy now or add cart, that 1 item will be ``safe´´ until payout. and if i dont buy that 1 left back on store avaiable.
The logic on SimFly is the same as in any other e-commerce platform. If we allowed assets to be reserved simply by adding them to the cart, any user could place multiple items without completing the purchase, effectively blocking them for everyone else. This would make the system unsustainable.
For this reason, an asset is only actually reserved once the purchase process is completed.
Additionally, to the best of our knowledge, Amazon does not reserve products when they are added to the cart, but only when the order is finalized.
As it’s not possible to reserve by simply adding to cart, Could it be possible, to prevent that kind of issue, to reserve the asset for 100 secondes, when the buyer click on the “process to check out”, to let him time to finalize the payment process ?
With maybe a limit of only 2 or 3 reservations per day per player to avoid abuse on that.
And karim i dont mean about just let on cart, i mean when you are on process to finalize the buy on (ex amazon) . a lot of ecomerce uses this way(when you on details to fill up card or pay stay on hold.
I suppose Amazon can do it because has hundreds/thousands of the same product.. owner has just one, its a personal assets.. it’s a bit different..I suppose..
instead I suppose activating the “Make an Offer” could be interesting. I make an offer and there could be a “private” direct interaction between the seller and buyer , without using the marketplace.
The “Make an offer” feature may never be implemented as it will make it easy for pilots to bypass the SimFly user marketplace entirely. This would deprive SimFly of a crucial revenue source.
Let’s say that it won’t replace the market if it is treated as a booking system and not a separate buy/sell page.. as a matter of fact, as a owner of an asset I should be able also to decide to whom to sell.. user A can make an offer, user B also as user C, of course it would have a limit of time, 12h or 24h, then ite offer would be removed.. and as a owner I would want to sell my asset to my friend “B” and not A or C.
In fact I was only thinking about booking and decide to whom I want to sale.. didn’t even think about a direct sale, that by the way is not possible. The sale is always via marketplace, but only to have a booking option.
Yes, it happened to me! Besides other problems, like this: I went to buy a license from my friend FlaCoBaires, which was priced at 112 pax. I clicked, started the purchase, and upon confirmation, it gave an error saying the product was no longer available. I refreshed the page, tried to go back, and nothing. Soon after, giving up, I went back to the Marketplace and looked for another license from a different seller, priced at 109 pax (because this one was one level below). I started a new purchase process for this second license, clicked everything correctly, and at the end of the purchase (only on the purchase receipts), it deducted the value of 112 pax, that is, from the previous purchase which had nothing to do with this second purchase I was making. I didn’t complain about the 3 pax, but I wondered what the trouble would be if it were other products and higher values.
