🏆 Create Your Own Touch & Win Mission: Community Proposal

Hello everyone,

we would like to propose an idea that we believe could be very fun, interesting, and engaging for the entire community.

Of course, we will continue to create our own official Touch & Win missions, but we would also like to explore the possibility of allowing the community to propose personalized Touch & Win missions, created directly from your own ideas.

The goal is to open a creative space where users can suggest unique, fun, technical, or themed precision landing challenges.

The idea

We would like to understand if you would enjoy having the possibility to propose a Touch & Win mission by choosing the main details of the event.

For example, you could provide:

  • the mission name

  • the start date and time

  • the end date and time

  • the entry fee

  • the airport or airports involved

  • the valid landing runway or runways

  • whether the challenge should use one runway or multiple runways

  • the type of aircraft allowed

  • the event image or banner

  • a runway image showing the intended landing area

  • any additional rules or specific mission details

Important clarification: Touch & Win is not based on landing exactly on a single GPS point.

Each mission defines one or more valid landing runways. The SimFly system then analyzes the pilot’s full-stop landing and calculates the score based on several technical factors, including landing precision, runway alignment, touchdown accuracy, landing rate, G-force, possible bounces, aircraft control after touchdown, and other simulator data.

So the objective is not simply to “touch one point”, but to perform the best and most precise landing possible on the valid runway defined for the event.

How it would be published

If a proposal is approved and published, on the SimFly event page we would like to also show the name of the user who created the mission, together with the main settings and the images provided.

This way, it will be clear that the Touch & Win was born from a community idea, while still keeping the official management and final review under SimFly.

Transparency for participants

We want every mission to be as transparent as possible.

On the event page, the goal will be to clearly show all the main mission data. In addition, for community proposals, and in the future also for missions created by SimFly, we will add further information, images, and specific details. If you have any ideas on how to make everything even more transparent, we are open to suggestions.

Each pilot will therefore be able to check in advance:

  • where the mission takes place

  • which airport is involved

  • which runway or runways are valid

  • which aircraft are allowed

  • which entry fee has been set

  • the main mission rules

  • any additional details or images provided for the challenge

This way, every participant can freely evaluate the mission before deciding whether to join or not.

Final review by our team

Of course, before publication, every proposal will be reviewed by our team.

This will be necessary to verify that:

  • the information is clear for everyone

  • the mission is suitable for publication

  • the provided data is complete

  • the runway data can be correctly configured in the SimFly system

Most importantly, there will be maximum space for community creativity, including the possibility to create something new using the tools available.

How this idea could start

At the moment, there is not yet a dedicated dashboard where these missions can be created independently.

However, if you like the idea, we could start with a dedicated forum topic where we collect your mission proposals.

In that topic, we would include a complete guide explaining:

  • which data is required

  • how to correctly submit a proposal

  • how runway information should be provided

  • which images to attach and in which format

  • how missions will be selected

  • how many missions may be chosen and published

  • what SimFly will review before publication

If we see that the community really appreciates this possibility, in the future we may also consider creating a dedicated dashboard, making the submission of new Touch & Win missions from the community much easier, more organized, and more automatic.

Let us know what you think

Before moving forward, we would like to understand if you really like this idea.

Would you like to have the possibility to propose Touch & Win missions for the community, with your name on the event page, your images, and your mission concept?

If the feedback is positive, we will open a dedicated forum topic in the next few days with all the information needed to get started.

I will also attach a few screenshots, so you can better understand both the type of data required and how the mission appears once published on the event page. With future updates, we may also add even more details directly inside the events.

We want to give you maximum creative freedom. Then it will be up to the users to freely decide whether they want to participate or not in the events and missions created by you.

Let us know what you think, and thank you all.

This is a great idea!

I have a couple of challenging landings I would love to suggest

I would like for the development team’s efforts to be focused elsewhere.

There are a lot of needed quality-of-life improvements I would like to see before any enhancements are made to T&W.

Hi @Kyndra, thank you for your feedback.

I completely understand your point. We are still continuing to work on the main developments and quality-of-life improvements for the platform.

This proposal is not meant to slow down what we are already doing. On the contrary, the idea is to involve the community more and collect new ideas for Touch & Win missions.

At this stage, there is nothing new to develop for this proposal. Your Touch & Win event ideas will simply be posted on the forum, in a dedicated topic that we will create. This will allow us to review the community’s proposals and, when possible, add them into the system using the details provided by you.

In fact, this can also help us focus better on other priorities, because we will not have to create every mission completely from scratch. We can start directly from the ideas and details suggested by the community.

If we see that this initiative works well and the community enjoys it, we may consider creating a dedicated dashboard in the future, allowing users to submit missions in a more structured way. But that would come later.

So, on the contrary, this initiative can also help us focus better on other important areas, because it allows us to start from ideas and details provided directly by the community.

I guess, player created would be better than none ?

Then, Yes, could be nice for many pilots to participate to create some of these T&W mission.
Thanks Karim.

Sounds cool - here is my proposal (both airports are user airports providing similar income). And yes one is mine but it is about specific approach difficulty first and foremost… If i can be gratified for work spend on making this specification that sounds fair at least to me - I can even skip participation not to take full prize

Official Event Description

Title: The Icelandic Gauntlet – Akureyri Runway 01 Airliner Challenge

Description:
Prepare your flight decks for one of the most intense, precision-demanding landing events in Northern Europe!

We are heading to northern Iceland for a specialized Touch & Win landing competition at Akureyri Airport (BIAR). [1, 2]

While Akureyri is featured prominently in Microsoft Flight Simulator’s native landing challenges, we are raising the stakes by locking out General Aviation aircraft. For this event, you must pilot narrow-body heavy hitters—specifically restricted to the Airbus A320 or **Boeing 737-800, Boeing 738-MAX ** fleets.

Your target is strictly Runway 01. Approaching from the south requires navigating a narrow valley and executing a terrifyingly steep 5.3-degree glide slope—nearly double the standard angle of a typical airport. Managing the high sink rates, configuring your flaps early, and countering aggressive Icelandic crosswinds in a heavy passenger jet will test your manual piloting skills to their absolute limit. Operating procedures for BIAR RWY01 arrival: [Operating procedures BIAR RWY 01]

Do you have the nerve to stabilize your approach, stick the touchdown zone, and claim the prize pool? Lock in your flight controls, calibrate your brakes, and see where you rank on the global leaderboard!

Event Rules & Restrictions:

  • Permitted Aircraft: Airbus A320 Family / Boeing 737 Series only (No GA or Widebodies).
  • Active Runway: 01 Only (Approaches or landings on Runway 19 will be disqualified).
  • Weather Conditions: Live weather is highly recommended for maximum challenge authenticity.
  • Autoland is prohibited.

Hi Shill,

first of all, thank you for your interest.

We are creating a new section in the forum where we will clearly explain all the requirements and details that users will need to provide in order to propose their own Touch & Win missions, including the necessary data, as well as the exact format and size required for the images.

We are also evaluating the possibility for the user who proposes and creates the mission to receive a percentage of the live pool generated by the entry fees.

As soon as everything is ready, we will officially announce the new section.

If this initiative works well, in the future we may also enable a dedicated dashboard on SimFly where users will be able to enter the data directly, upload the images, and submit the mission. Of course, before final publication, every mission will still go through our review.

Will there be a PAX token payment required to create a Touch & Win mission?

@shill

I like your ideas. I might add that one thing I would like to see modified about the Touch & Win system is the ability to specify ANY CATEGORY X AIRCRAFT rather than solely specifying by aircraft ICAO.

I haven’t participated in any T&W so far because the aircraft I like to fly have not been eligible.

@Karim-CTO-SimFly I propose that the creator pays a PAX token fee to create the custom Touch & Win mission and that a portion of the creation fee becomes the starting payout pool.

Currently T&W missions have an issue - the first few people to participate will not recover the entry fee unless a lot of additional people join.

Yes, exactly, that is the idea.

The mission creator will receive a percentage of the final prize pool.

I also noticed that issue, so I have already proposed some changes to the development team: for the first 10 participants, no commission should be applied — neither the 20% SimFly burn nor the mission creator’s commission.

The various commissions on the final prize pool would only start applying after the mission has more than 10 participants.

Hi,

Maybe we could apply a system like in most POKER tournanement.
usually something like that :
1 to 4 palyer : 1 winner
5 to 7 : 2 winners
8 to 14 : 3 winners
15 to 22 : 4 winners
…
large amount of players : 12 to 15% of winners
about 30% for the number 1 and just a little more than the entrance fee for the last paid ranking.

Then
Kyndra says creator shoud pay a fee to fund the pool
Karim says Creator should receive a percentage of the pool
… glad you agree

Hello, what’s going on with the Touch & Win missions? The pilots aren’t creating them (yet), and neither is Simfly?

Great question. I suspect they are working on getting user created missions working.

Hello everyone,

yes, regarding the possibility of creating Touch & Win missions, we have currently completed around 80% of the work. The main part has already been developed, and there is not much left before completion.

Before the release, we will carry out all the necessary tests and prepare a complete guide on the Wiki. There will be many new features in this section, which will allow you to create your own Touch & Win missions directly.

Over the next few days, I will update you on the release date, the available features, and all the related rules.

Thank you all for your patience and support!
