Please, we can help correct the maximum ranges of some aircraft. I’m surprised that the A321 Neo can’t fly its maximum range. I had even heard that the mission could be flown, but it would only generate PAX at the supposed range published by the manufacturer.
In the case of my A321 Neo, I can’t even start the mission because it mistakenly states it can only fly 3,500 NM. The manufacturer publishes on its official website that the XLR version of the Neo can reach up to 4,700 NM. Please correct this important information, and in the case of missions, it’s important to respect what the community is told about mission operations.
I suppose that fixes and adjustments can be made obviously. Take note that the range quoted by the manufacturer is without wind (and there is usually significant headwind over the Atlantic due to the jetstream) and does not include additional reserves that may be needed for EDTO (Extended Diversion Time Operations) flights over oceans.
Maybe if we ask simfly to stick to the manufacturer max range declared, maybe they can akso stick to where the A321neo effectively takes off from. I don’t think in reality, as the reality of the max range seems to be, the A321 takes off from every airport simfly permits to. I think there should be always a good compromise between the two “worlds”, simulation and real aviation. Anyway, I suppose a between value can be found for the most of airplane max range.
By the way, who or for what reason I should put full fuel load sacrificing passengers load, just to reach the max range possible, or risk not to have enough fuel for eventual emergency or detours? Is there a contest or something I miss?
. Just kidding.. ![]()
Hi, thank you for your report.
Since the A321LR and A321XLR are variants of the A321neo, we’ve updated the A321neo product with a maximum range of 4,700 NM. You can check it here:
Excellent! Thanks to SimFly for the adjustment.
It’s not about wanting to fly at the maximum distance, but rather about adapting as best as possible to the manufacturer’s specifications and allowing for a safety margin at maximum range, especially now that the mission could be aborted.
But obviously, I like to take full advantage of the aircraft’s range. ![]()
No problem, and thanks for the report ![]()
The A319, although I don’t have it yet, needs some tuning as the range is expressed in km, but in nautical miles it has a range of 3750 nm.
Thank you for the report
— yes, there was indeed an error. We’ve fixed it
