The system doesn’t recognize the Bae 146 and the Avro RJ as the same aircraft. How can I fix this?
Okay, it’s worse than I thought… it doesn’t recognize any Justflight bae -146…
“Just Flight 146-300 SIMFLY is not in SimFly database”
What?
What am I doing wrong?
I think this is an ICAO / variant mismatch.
SimFly Marketplace lists BAE 146 as B461, but that ICAO is only for the BAE 146-100.
You are flying the Just Flight BAE 146-300, which should be B463.
Since B463 isn’t in the SimFly database, the aircraft isn’t recognized at all, and you get the “not in database” message.
In that sense:
-
the Marketplace aircraft variant isn’t clearly specified, and
-
SimFly needs to add the BAE 146-300 (Likely launching it in the future as the 737 family).
In any case, there is nothing wrong on the user side, just a database classification issue due a poorly labeled aircraft.
I tried using a 146-100 and it wasn’t recognized either.
But I solved it with a bit of creativity. In aircraft.cfg I made the following change:
title = “Just Flight 146-100 TABA” ; Variation name
to:
title = “Just Flight 146-100 TABA B461” ; Variation name
With this, the aircraft was recognized normally.
