Mandatory flight plan

In the world of general aviation all the planes that take off and land have a flight plan communicated to ATC however in the SIMFLY world I have noticed many flights without a flight plan which are NA…and it is easy for them to take off and land wherever they want without any communication…in the real world a plane that flies without any flight plan turns out to be a TERRORIST, a ILL-INTENDED person or an AIRCRAFT THIEF usually the police are sent to check or the military aviation is used to block the flight…SymFly doesn’t charge any penalties for this type of flight and doesn’t even use any measures----and you SIMMERS what do you think?

MaNaZaS I don’t want to offend anyone but I made a simple comparison between the real world and the Simfly world and it’s true I can’t accuse you of terrorism…but you could also be narcos or freerangers or you could be mercenaries transporting plutonium or diamonds or drugs or expensive medicines…ok ok I don’t want to force anyone to make a correct flight plan I’m joking too…but but I want to tell you at least to write and communicate only the DEPARTURE and DESTINATION just simply write only 2 ICAO codes very simple.

The truth is that, since we have the possibility to file a flight plan, it’s quite interesting, because I often find myself looking at the map and watching the people who are flying — it’s fun to see where they’re headed and that kind of thing.

So actually, I do support your proposal, but not as something mandatory or punishable — rather as something recommended.

I agree with the proposal, but I’m more aligned with MaNaZaS’s point of view. Having a basic flight plan (just departure and destination) can bring some order and enhance the experience for everyone enjoying SimFly. Plus, it’s interesting to see where others are flying — it adds more meaning to the simulation.

That said, I don’t think it should be mandatory or punishable, but rather something recommended. After all, this is about having fun, and not everyone wants to follow strict real-world procedures. But encouraging the use of simple flight plans could be a good middle ground for everyone.

While “unrestricted flight,” “test pilot,” and “airplane rental” missions allow to fly without flight plans, most of the coming new missions require precise planning. Omitting destination and route isn’t ideal, but we’ve allowed it for convenience on basic missions. also to help beginners (like moi)

R. Capodieci, not everyone has a symbrief, so filling out a detailed flight plan is very complex, and it also wastes time because it takes a bit of time to do the briefing… For me personally, there is no problem, I can fill out the complete flight plan for you… but for others who are new pilots, I would recommend keeping things as simple as possible… in fact, we only need to display 2 data points: Route and Destination, very simple.

Why should it only be recommended? The flight plan is important, and if someone doesn’t have one, they should be fined or have their license suspended. What does Italian law actually provide?
– Legislative Decree 173/2007-2017 provides fines ranging from €5,000 to €50,000 (up to €100,000 for organizations) for those who violate operating rules or jeopardize flight safety.
Chamber of Deputies Documents

EASA – EU Regulation 646/2012 on “fines and penalties” allows the Commission to impose proportional fines for serious infringements of safe air rules (including failure to maintain flight safety).

In the event of a willful violation or gross negligence, ENAC may suspend or revoke the operator’s license and certificates.

If i remember correctly, in the last simfly video, it was said that all movements, except for test pilot and unrestricted, will need a simple plan, departure and arrival, no need to insert a full flight plan using simbrief or other, you can just put dct (destination ICAO) if you want in the flight plan window. But remember that is a good thing putting a destination airport even in unrestricted mission, this way you will block eventual bonus percentage given by the arrival airport.

they insist in calling it flight plan, but is just the arrival airport and optionally an alternate arrival airport. Not all the points in between

ok roberto I satisfy your nitpicking it’s not called a flight plan and it’s not even called an abbreviated flight plan but it’s simply called a FLIGHT ITINERARY.

You could also specify when a flight plan is not necessary, so we all, even the novices, had more accurate information. just for general knowledge.

Atleast for the commercial airline that used heavy aircraft should be forced to have a FLP to make a flight in Simfly to make it realistic. i would like to see that so all planes have a FLP

I suppose Simfly is also a platform that gives chances to fly to everyone. So that’s why there’s a section where users can just fly without a certain number of rules, such as “unrestricted” mode, or not having a mandatory conversation with ATC’s for example. Other sections will have more rules to follow. And just remind that the mentioned “flight plan” is not a real life flight plan, it just something to make things a bit more “clear” and setup. Even though a “document” where it declares, a departure, an arrival and also number of passengers, as in real life aviation, can also be called a flight plan. (from the web: a document that includes departure and arrival information, along with other critical details, is commonly referred to as a flight plan)
