Hi SimFlyers!
New updates have just been released on SimFly.
Main updates
• API Key: a warning dialog is now shown when a user already has an API Key and attempts to generate another one. The connection logic and the visual indicators (traffic lights) have also been updated.
• Fixed the airplane asset details URL.
• Resolved an issue where the Junior License could not be purchased after selling all licenses.
API Key – Important changes
Starting today, it is no longer possible to create more than one API Key per user.
If you want to change or regenerate an API Key, you must first delete the existing one, and only then will you be able to generate a new API Key.
We have also improved how the API Key connection status is displayed:
the traffic light indicator on SimFly and on the API Key turns green only when the client is correctly connected and broadcasting, meaning the flight simulator is actively sending aircraft data through the SimFly Client.
For users, the procedure remains exactly the same as before.
The difference is purely visual: you will now see the green indicator only when you are inside the aircraft and the simulator is correctly transmitting data.
In addition, we have removed some overly aggressive server-side checks and simplified the logic used to verify whether an API Key is properly connected.
This reduces server load and improves overall system stability.
Wiki update
We will soon update the Wiki, in the API Key section, with all the new details and clarifications.
Airplane asset details URL fix
We identified a bug introduced with the launch of the User Airplane Marketplace:
when a user purchased an aircraft from another user and later changed the Tail Number, clicking on that aircraft in certain sections resulted in a 404 error.
This issue has now been resolved and should no longer occur.
Junior License – Issue resolved
From now on, even if a user has sold all of their Standard Licenses, they will be able to purchase the Junior Pilot License again when it is available.
This behavior was intended but was not working correctly before; the bug has now been fixed and everything should function as expected.
We will also talk about this in this week’s video.
Thank you for your attention, and as always, your feedback is extremely valuable and helps us continue improving SimFly
