Sim crashes

Hello all,

I run MSFS 2020 and most of the time when I try to start a mission the game crashes. Could someone help me understand why this is happening? Thanks.

Does it happen also without simfly client active?

If it crashes also without simfly client you should ask msfs/asobo support.

Meanwhile you can check files within Xbox app or steam. First suggestion is to start msfs in safe mode, after a crash when you start again the game it should ask if you want to continue in safe mode.. maybe some models installed in community folder is not good

I have the same problem, crash without notice, I haven’t found a soluzioni yet

we need to proceed with steps in order to have a better and clear view of the problem.

  1. Sim crashes… crashes it means, you exit right to the windows desktop? If this is the case it would be easy to start MSFS in “safe mode” when starting again the flight sim. It should ask if you want to proceed in safe mode.
  2. Does it crash at every flight? Even without the Simfly client? If the simfly client starts automatically with the sim, you can close the application by clicking on the lower simfly icon and choose EXIT. Not just closing with the “X” the client window.

In my case, it only crashes with the simfly client running.

Hi,
Could you please send us the log file so we can check?
You can find it by opening the SimFly client and going to the Log section.
If you had uninstalled the client, please reinstall it, and as soon as the simulator crashes, retrieve the log file and send it to us.

well I use SIM always with the simfly client….. The SIM crashes going to the windows desktop, this is an example of the event

Does it crash at a certain point when in the Sim? Or it crashes while you fly?

I found the problem, RAM problem, I changed it and no crash so far

Wow. That’s weird.. ram modules incompatible with simfly client.. Just joking :smiling_face:

The mysteries of MSFS.

A few years ago, I had an issue where MSFS2020 would crash to desktop at about 10 minutes into many flights.

The culprit? I had Capture One photo editing software installed on the same PC and there was a DLL conflict between MSFS and Capture One. Uninstalled Capture One and never encountered the issue afterwards.
