The time has come... CAT1 Airport owners

What if we start up a sort of “club” for all the cat1 airport owners. We are mainly snubbed from other simmers, just because they prefer to stick to their “big” (fat):grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: airplanes. And don’t want to waste a couple of hours flying cat1 to cat4 airplanes (not even renting if not owned) in order to land on those “poor” little airfields..:blush: . I think we should really to the same and “tour” on cat1 airports. (there shouldn’t be excuse for cat2 airports, but they are avoided also). Anyway, I could understand for those who don’t share not even the minimum 20% of share, or seems to be not active owners, because some owners don’t fly from many months or a year. But it’s easy to check, just a couple of “clicks” on the airport to see if the owner is active, so he could return the favor. Too much work? well I’ll bet a pre-flight checklist of a liner takes a lot more. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: and that is all the fun they have, I mean a liner simmer pilot should feel very proud to be able to go through all the pre and post flight procedures. That is really the best part of flying a liner, because out of that, there’s nothing else, I mean flying at 25k feet or more above a field of white clouds for 10, 12 or 15 hours (even though they might be in front of a screen), doesn’t seem to be really enjoyable until you start the approach, another fun part.
So, besides this talking about liners, how could the cat1 owners unite or assemble (Marvel docet :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: )?

think about it.. :vulcan_salute:

I think this is a great idea.

I maintain a Google Earth map for category 2-7 airports owned by active players here: Airport Information Board - Google Earth

Perhaps you can create something similar for category 1 airports with profit sharing enabled to assist players find smaller airports.

@antonio.ferrara

I now have automated tools to help build and maintain the world map with player-owned airports.

This means I can add category 1 airports to the Airport Information Board map if desired. I can even create a “Small Airports” folder specifically for category 1.

If anyone would like their Category 1 airports added to the existing map, simply reply to this thread with your SimFly pilot name and the ICAOs of your airports.

Format:
{username}: {ICAO} {ICAO} {ICAO} {ICAO}

Example:

UserName: ABCD BBBB CCCC 1Z1
