Hey folks,
first of all, congrats again on how SIMFLY keeps growing — both in terms of users and in the way the rules and flight details are being refined.
That said, I’d like to bring up an issue that’s been around on the platform since 2024. I don’t have the numbers in hand, but from what I’ve seen, ever since PAX payments were switched from flight hours to distance-based, it’s basically crippled small airports and lower-class aircraft — areas where many of us had invested time and resources.
Short hops between small airports, and flying lower-class aircraft, just aren’t rewarding anymore… which kind of kills the beauty of VFR flying!
In my opinion, we’re now in a good place to go back to an hours-based PAX payment system. And of course, there are ways to limit the “orbiting” abuse that had caused concerns in the past.
Paying by flight hours would actually encourage pilots to rent smaller aircraft and make use of smaller airports again.
I’d really like to start a poll on this… and I hope this suggestion can be seriously considered.
Cheers, as always!
