Uzbekistan ICAOs changed

Hi, I’ve just discovered that Uzbekistan changed their ICAOs code from UTxx to UZxx.

For example Tashkent was UTTT and now is UZTT.

All the airports here have the old codes. Could you fix it?

PS: I’ve also opened a ticket for this, but I thought here could be useful for everyone.

Your comment reminds us all how important is the simflycommunity. Every user can contribute to enhance the simfly experience. Although your information is correct, ICAO has in fact changed, but for example, MSFS and most important, simbrief database, are not yet updated. If you try to make a flight plan using UZTT, it won’t go through. Also if you use UTZZ in the default msfs database, you won’t find the airport. Maybe there’s a scenery mod, but this would obly everyone to use it. Simfly cannot update the ICAO yet , but when at least simbrief would update its database, then Simfly can think about updating it.

Hello Antonio, that’s not correct this time. Yesterday I’ve flown to UZTT with FS2020. The sim handles both ICAO (the old and the new one) and Navigraph/Simbrief accepts the new one too.

PS. The old one was UTTT not UTZZ, this why you don’t find it.

hi.

I have msfs2020 and Simbrief with no subscription (users are not obliged to buy a subscription in order to fly).. and this is what I get. I can find UTTT but if i digit UZTT, the new one, it doesn’t show anything.

My Simbrief with I suppose outdated AIREC shows this if i use UZTT

I know the correct one is UZTT but it doesn’t work. But as you state, there’s a good news, you said you can use both ones. so no problem with you.

I guess you may need to update the data, as Airac 2403 was from April 2024 and we are now with AIRAC 2413.
and then I confirm Simbref is ok with UZTT

you can update MSFS 2020/2024 and Simbrief with Navigraph hub, but i thinks that’s included in paying subscription.

And that’s what I wrote. If I subscribe paying, I can for sure use the new update and perhaps it will update also msfs2020 airport database icao.. but why should I pay for it. On the other hand who has the subscription like some users can use both. So the scenario is that at the moment if simfly keeps things as they are, all users can fly to that airport, if simfly changes to the new icao, only some users can fly to it.

Does SimFly support the new UZ** ICAOs or are you forced to use the outdated ones to get SimFly to work properly?

They wrote me they send the issue to the dev team and they’ll let me know.

I would still like to hear the answer to the question.

Can we use UZ** ICAOs with SimFly?

Of course no.
I had to use the old ICAO (UTTT), otherwise there was no reason to open the ticket here

I just did a flight there and had to use UTTT.

I can only use UTTT for example because i don’t use simbrief. Lucky users can use both, old and new ICAO. consider yourself lucky then..
