xPlane 12.4.1 update and Simfly client crash

Hello Simfly Team,

I have an update to Xplane simulator in 12.4.1 and the simfly client (XPlaneBridgePlugin) cause a xplane crash with desktop return immediatly.

This my xplane log :

XPlaneBridgePlugin (XPlaneSDK.XPlaneBridgePlugins.XPlaneBridgePlugin) has bypassed XPLM when calling SDK functions. This is a plugin bug.

Can you update SimFly Client, please ?

I have create a ticket to follow the bug.

Thank you?

Yes this is happening to me too

I just updated and having the same issue. Crashes everytime :frowning:

For temporary workaround, please try to revert back to previous version (Steam) while SimFly checks this compatibility with the client.

Thank you for the report. We have forwarded this to the development team and will update you as soon as possible.

I can’t go back. In order to pay game developers as fairly as possible and when possible, I avoid going through platforms like steam which use it quite well by the way. I bought the game directly from Laminar Research.

Thanks you. Hoping for a quick fix to take advantage of my premium plan as soon as possible.:folded_hands: :folded_hands::folded_hands:

I’m happening the same Crashing immediately.

In case anyone is wondering when… I opened a Ticket as soon I realized SimFly Plugin was affected (as expected) by changes on 12.4.1, and here is their response:

Hello,

following the X-Plane update, we are currently working on adapting the system to a new client.

Compatibility will be restored by Thursday.

We will keep you updated on any further developments.

Hello,

Has the client update that was scheduled for Thursday been released? A week without flying = no pax.

I’m not ready to buy my A319-100…

Thank you for information.

@Karim-CTO-SimFly

I believe it is worth looking into Ben Supnik’s latest X-Plane Developer Blog post about 12.4.1:

https://developer.x-plane.com/2026/04/sdk-news-12-4-1-a-quick-check-in/

Also, I am not sure whether you are aware, but as a developer you can request access to the Laminar Slack and receive early access to the newest X-Plane versions to help ensure future compatibility. That seems like a very good practice overall.

You will find all the details in the X-Plane blog post linked above.

Regards.

hey i have same issue butt i have paid 9.99 euro and buy xbox game pass and downloaded mfs and with it. NO MATTER WHAT THERE IS NO WAY WE STOP FLY WITH SIMFLY KEEP UP

Well if it happens again, instead of not flying with your prefered airplane, try and learn another one, this way you can still earn something, if that’s the main point.

Hi Antonio, telling paying customers to “just fly something else” is a rather convenient way of lowering the bar for professional support.

If a product is sold for real money and officially supports a simulator, keeping it compatible is not some optional courtesy — it is part of the developer’s responsibility. Especially when the 12.4.1 changes were known in advance and many other developers managed to adapt accordingly.

So no, the issue is not that users should “learn another airplane.” The issue is that a paid service should work with the platform it claims to support.

That is my view, at least.

My “suggestion” wasn’t a “forever” solution or a forever walkaround. It was evident that there was an issue due to Xplane developers (not simfly), the issue was well known registered and it needs some time in order to understand and do it… my words were for:

  • it’s known,

  • it has been taken into account,

  • meanwhile “learn” something else.

Perhaps my comment wasn’t so right for this issue mainly but more with all the comments read through the week about receiving penalties due to a new airplane release. If I see there’s an evident problem with that particular airplane, I will just stop using that airplane, and fly others, and wait for an eventual solution..

even in that case, the issue was on the developers side not simfly.
And by the way, until a new release of the aircraft will arrive, simfly just did a walkaround in order not to receive penalties. Other Acars owners just wrote, if you want to use that plane use it at your own risk. Simfly, in order to make these users “happy”, did something else..even though its wasn’t her responsibility to “fix” that issue.

But reading a comment that states, I can’t fly for a week in order to gain pax, as this was a kind of “job”, well for my point view is too much and makes me laugh . So I just wrote what I wrote in a “comedian “ style.. don’t take it (all users) too seriously.. fly down .. (again.)

I don’t take it badly.

This is not the story of an aircraft, it’s the story of the simfly client that causes a bug on xplane (following an update of xplane) with a systematic return to the desktop regardless of the aircraft used.

After Simfly is just an overlay for me and if tomorrow Simfly can’t update its client, then I’ll sell my assets and delete my account. And I’m going back to virtual companies (like before).

Simfly allows me to set goals for additional flight. I don’t count on Simfly to get rich.

Simfly is not my life and never will be. Just a little extra as “Roberto” said in one of his comments.

So there is no debate. I’m waiting for the update and then that’s it. It just delays my goal.

It’s not xplane’s fault for offering updates, nor SIMFLY’s fault for not having access to the SDK before the update.

We just have to be patient.

Hi CalibraNR

this platform SIMFLY is not some paid customer service or job or product . i believe it is has become part OURS flying simulation PASSION. i agree with you that we have invested in real money here butt as you can see this platform has incredibly grown. IT MEAN THE DEVELOPERS ARE WORKING HARD TO KEEP THIS UPDATE. butt some time thing can get dizzi it doesn’t mean we start to complain about it.
ALSO That is my view, at least.

:warning: SimFly Client for X-Plane 12.4+ — Plugin Hotfix Available

Hi everyone,

Following a recent update to X-Plane 12 (12.4+), some users may experience a crash on startup while using SimFly.

This is due to a change in the simulator that affects how certain plugins interact with it.

:white_check_mark: Temporary fix (before the 1.3.0 release)
While we are preparing the rollout of SimFly Client 1.3.0, you can apply this quick hotfix:

  • Download the updated file here:
    SimflyClient-1.3.0-preRelease-XPlaneBridgePlugin-hotfix.zip

  • Open your X-Plane installation folder (the main folder where X-Plane is installed)

  • Navigate to one of the following paths:
    /Resources/plugins/XPlaneBridgePlugin/
    or
    /Resources/plugins/PluginAdmin/64

  • Replace the existing plugin file with the updated one

  • Restart X-Plane

:brain: Notes

  • Applies to Windows users

  • macOS users are not affected

:rocket: What’s next
This fix is already included in SimFly Client 1.3.0, which will be released shortly.
