Inactive Users - Profit Splits

I think this topic is, because of the fact that users owns airports, a little bit strange at simfly.
Users can buy airports, and go inactive… No matter which effects this can cause in the future…
There are already users, where I see they arent active in the last 12 month. No flights, nor anything else…

But as an idea: If an User is inactive (not logged in ect) , set profit split to 60/40 , or 50/50. At least for airports, to keep these airports active in SimFly…

As the video of the 4th of july explained, there are some reasons on why the assets are not automatically activated as they are purchased. as the video explained, the first reason is that once is activated, and the asset are gaining xp and pax, it is not possible to ask for a refund if the owner for some reason wants to give it back, it said that there’s a two weeks time in order to decide to give it back due to an error buying or something. If not 2 weeks maybe a higher limit for any customer care policy, but it has to be a limit in may opinion. If there’s already a limit in time for a customer to give back an item bought, we need to ask to respect that limit. After that limit, 2 weeks, one month or else, the assets needs to be activated in my opinion. Otherwise that un-activated assets could create a “hole” for earning to everyone, even someone who would like to own that airport, and i suppose that even when user marketplace will be active, the user wont show up, or maybe months will pass before the owner possibly can show up.

I think it’s a shame that there’s so much unused asset potential, but aside from that…

If someone decides to invest in 20 airports with the idea of selling them in the future, and in the meantime doesn’t activate them, they’re within their rights because they paid for them with their own money.

On the other hand, setting up an airport with a 60% shared profit is a premium benefit, not a right for other pilots who haven’t paid for it. On this point, I already responded to a message from a member of my community who was also demanding PAX from an inactive airport.

I’m starting to have mixed feelings — in the end, all the posts seem to carry the same message: Give me easy PAX.

What I actually miss is the opposite. PAX can be obtained far too easily. I want fuel costs, maintenance expenses, breakdowns… I think a lot of people don’t understand the point of this type of game, where consistency, planning, and strategy are rewarded. What’s the fun in filling up with PAX and buying everything? Next month, on to another game.

I don’t know, it’s just my opinion. It’s true there aren’t that many messages compared to the number of users, but it’s starting to get too repetitive. Always asking for reduced difficulty — always under the guise of realism. But realism is hard, and you don’t get paid for landing at an airport — you pay. What’s missing is a job system where you have to cover airport expenses through job profits.

I fully agree on the part of a “job system”, and some “realism” on paying fuel costs, maintenance and so on, but it needs to be fully studied and well checked before activating. In order to “pay” for anything, i need to gain something in proportion, passengers flow, jobs well paid as for what type of flight, etc etc..

Regarding activating the assets, i suppose that if a user buys an asset and wants to resell it, in order to resell it to someone it needs to be activated, why sell an airport whatever category but not leveled up? The only reason Roberto said of a reason not to activate an asset is for asking a refund to simfly for giving back the asset. If i would choose to buy an asset from someone I would pick a leveled up asset not a basic one. It could be more convenient to buy a cat1 airport leveled up instead of a cat2 at level 1.

Activated or not, the only real reason to buy an airport is because you want it. Airports are unique and exclusive assets — and therefore, naturally, also a source of envy.

If someone wants a specific airport, they’ll have to decide how much they’re willing to pay, because upgraded or not, the true value lies in the ownership itself. The upgrade is just a matter of time. And if you’re willing to pay for it, it won’t matter whether it’s been leveled up or not — you just want to own it.

I was thinking more on your words “..to invest in 20 airports with the idea of selling them in the future.” Obviously there are many opinions on why to buy an assets, one is to buy an airport that i want for some personal idea or like it, but for sure not thinking about if it is worth it selling it because placed who knows where, far away from everything  like mines in antarctica. Other buys some well known airports, other buy assets in order to sell them and think they can be sold only because of a nice spot. But for what I see, the majority of the airport bought are not so well known. They are just normal cat2/3/4 like so many.. i mean why should I buy a user cat2 airport instead of another one 200nm away not owned by nobody else?

This might sound offensive to someone, but I assure you that’s not the intention. However, the feeling I get from some comments is one of a certain selfishness.

Let someone else pay for the airport, let someone else pay for the premium, but give me the benefits without having to pay myself.

And that’s the flaw I’ve always seen in the 60% pilot payout. I see it as an opportunity to promote your airport and your aircraft, to primarily gain experience so you can level them up, since the passengers mostly go to the pilot.

But some have turned this 60% into a personal right.

What will happen when premium users have already upgraded their assets, or simply get tired of sharing the benefits of the money they invested, and start removing the 60%? Complaints will begin. Honestly, some recent comments have made me want to stop sharing my benefits.

I didn’t buy my airports so that others could fly them — I bought them to fly and enjoy them myself. And if I’ve set the 60%, it’s to share with my teammates, not to attract mass public traffic.

Look up Narsarsuaq, Courchevel, Paro, Toncontín, St. Barth, Lukla… Are there any left? Do you think people bought them because they’re near their house?

Good aproachs, nav aids, goods scenary… Not all Cat3 have the same value..

We forget that this is an ECONOMY game, not just a simulation one, and it’s not developed on demand — like “give me less economy and more simulation” or “make it light because I can only fly on Thursdays.”

These are well known places. What about the user you mentioned first, many airports bought, not as famous as the up mentioned Paro, Lukla or else. Why buy so many airports not really “famous” but just nornal airports as many other and not activate them? What do you think is the reason for that? My opinion? They just left simfly, or even abandoned the web. Maybe they are ill, or worse. Who knows?

Maybe category… or have ILS… or any other nav aid… too much reasons… so much than people

My main question remains on why a user buys so many assets and not activate them in so many months. They’re not even like you and me, that buy an asset for the pleasure of flying in and out from them.. so why I think? May we start to consider how to manage assets of user that could have abandoned simfly for an unexpected reason?

manage why? Are their assets… No yours or mine… If they don’t want activate they dont earn pax… All you think on earn pax you with their assets.

What is the next… Forbide premium users set 0% payment on their assets??

If they express their opinion by communicating their will , ok, nothing against it? Whst if a user is dead? If he actually paid for them, maybe their relatives could have a refund? Otherwise we can have lots of assets abandoned for any reason. We have them now, we can have them in the future. Roberto said some users not even write back to an email.

Activating doesn’t mean i can gain from it. They can leave it at zero share. Im talking for them, they can earn something if at least they are unavailable for some reason.

And why should we care if they don’t earn? Are we supposed to be worried about them?
Then why do they ask for it to be automatically set to 50% or 60%?

If we truly want them to earn, then why are we demanding they give us 60%?

It wasn’t me demanding for a share, you can see from my logs how many times I fly or where I fly, I’m not that kind of guy that worries about gaining here…:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Why worry about these abandoned assets? Maybe someone else could be interested. And if these are really abandoned, its just a shame, nothing more..

Im not talking about u. I talk about this post

Instead, we should worry… let’s say the user bought the airport you so wanted? You’ll never be able to have it again, nor can you propose a purchase negotiation to the owner… and let’s say he co-bought the airport of your beautiful capital, MADRID or BARCELONA? You’ll never be able to have them again? Maybe it was even an AMERICAN owner who bought your CAPITAL. OK, I would propose imposing an EXPIRY DATE like the current one for the premium subscription. If the subscription expires, you automatically lose all the GOODS, airports, planes, licenses, etc., so you also lose passengers… now you wonder where all these things end up? OK, I answer: they end up at AUCTION; whoever offers the highest price gets to buy them.

It’s simple, just send them a notification, an email, or a text message every year with an activity check, asking “ARE YOU ACTIVE?” YES - NO. If they don’t respond, it means the user is not active and hasn’t responded when the account expiration notification is sent. If they don’t respond, they will AUTOMATICALLY lose ALL THEIR ASSETS.

No, it’s not that simple.

I paid for a product — you don’t get to tell me how to use it, among other reasons because that wasn’t in the terms when I bought it.

You want to take it away from me? See you in court.

Active or not, the owner decides how to use their asset. Even if it’s active, I can set it to 0% and you won’t earn a single cent from pax using my asset.
How about I go and tell you how you should use the assets you paid for — and if you don’t comply, I take them away?

There are thousands of airports, hundreds already bought and offering a percentage to the pilot.
Why don’t you just use all the others and stop bothering those who don’t want to pay you for using theirs?
